The cam chain tensioner pins as pressed into the OEM cam chain tensioner plate are quite soft and prone to wear. Consequently, the tensioners start to move freely and distort, resulting in excessive wear of the shoes and deforming the tensioners. These heat treated chrome moly pins have a proper press-fit and extend chain tensioner life.
